Finally back in the water!
We took advantage of a brief improvement in visibility to dive at Blue Heron Bridge this week. It felt great to be back in the water for the first time since August! While conditions were not perfect, they were good enough to allow us to find some very fun critters including lots of Common Sundials, a King Helmet and a Chestnut Turbin with a tiny shrimp passenger. Usually when I see a Chestnut Turbin shell, there is a hermit crab inside. It was fun to see the actual snail. For a few more pictures from this week underwater, click here.
Pine Warbler with a spider for lunch.
We also made time for some biking and bird-watching. Although it is still a bit too warm for serious hiking, we meandered through a couple of the local natural areas, were we found the usual suspects and some of our winter visitors. For more images from this week around the ‘hood, click here.
