Time for the early birds

We have reached the time of year when outdoor activities are best done early in the morning or late in the evening. So, this week I took a few walks around the ‘hood just as the sun was coming up. I was not disappointed. It seems the local birds are early risers too. I was particularly pleased to find these three Loggerhead Shrikes sitting together. My first experience photographing more than one at a time.

We also ventured out to Blue Heron Bridge for a dusk dive - my favorite time of the day to be underwater. While the visibility left a lot to be desired, Svetlana and I (Carl gave up after a few minutes) still managed to find some very cool critters. Some of the pictures are a little green and hazy, but I shared them because the sightings were rare.
