There is nothing to see here.

At least I think that is what this Atlantic Longarm Octopus was saying as he did his best to look like the surrounding algae. Although this is not my best photo (the water was very hazy), I loved the way he was mimicking his surroundings and just had to share. He/she is about 4” tall in this pose.

The weather has remained cool enough to enjoy hiking and bird-watching, so we are taking full advantage. This includes cocktail hour on our patio where we are still enjoying our winter visitors including the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Palm Warblers and the Painted Buntings. This week I finally got a really good shot of “Squeak” - one of the hummers. Here he is along with a few other pictures from this week around the ‘hood. Click on an image to view full screen.
