Summersville Lake Part 2

During our second week at Summersville Lake we were joined by our friends Debra Light and Bruce Sherman for a day of hiking and a day of paddling. We filled in around that with more time on the trails and in the lake. Although we saw three Bald Eagles and some White-tailed Deer, the woods were oddly devoid of wildlife. Despite that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lake.

Our hike with Debra and Bruce ended at the top of this cliff, where we found a crowd of young people (mostly guys) with more guts than brains. They were jumping and flipping off the top ledge while their friends egged them on and shot video. Ah youth!

Check out the rest of the images from last week to see just how high that looks from the perspective of kayakers in the water. We paddled under the cliff the next day. The tiny specks above Carl are people. Alas, no jumpers.
