Did you see the comet?
We did! On the least hazy evening, we roamed the ‘hood looking for a good vantage point. In the process, we got to see an awesome sunset. Then, despite the light polution from the local ballfield, we spotted comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. I was only able to get a “proof of life” photo (check out this weeks images).
After our ramble, we came home, pulled into the driveway, and found that the comet was perfectly placed directly over our neighbor’s house. It was too low in the sky for more photography, so we just enjoyed the view. It should be visible, albeit dimmer and dimmer, until the end of the month. If you haven’t seen it yet, hurry. It won’t be back for another 80,000 years!
Although conditions have not been good for diving, the weather has been great for walking, beach time and visiting some of the local attractions. This week’s adventures included a visit to Mount’s Botanical Garden (they have a brand new African animal sculpture installation) and the Elliott Museum (local history and an amazing auto collection). Koko is getting plenty of walks and is enjoying her backyard. It’s nice to be home.
